The "Q and U" wedding! See slide show is too cute!

The pleasure of your company
is requested at the
marriage ceremony of

Reception immediately following the ceremony

Have you ever thought about the fact the the letter (u) always follows the letter (Q) in words. (random thought, I know, but when you start to make a list of words w/the letter q, you will always find a u. Because these 2 "love birds" are always together, they thought it was about time they made it official. Q and U have tied the knot!!! and I have to say, the ceremony was just beautiful.

Ok, are you confused yet? Well, let me explain...
To teach children this particular spelling pattern, a wonderful teacher at my school helped her students plan the "wedding of the year". They made their own arch, isle runner, reception decorations, etc. Each student got to put a q or u on the wedding cake and they each had a role in the festivities. All of the bridesmaids and groomsmen were letters of the alphabet and they were taught how to escort a lady properly. The bride and groom said their vows, the bell ringers sounded, and the wedding party sang "Here Comes the Bride". The bride and groom left the ceremony in their decorated "get-a-way" car as wedding guests blew bubbles. The groom whisked his bride down the school hallways and guests followed to a lovely reception complete w/punch, cake, and wedding mints. It was definitely an event to remember! Watch the Wedding Slide show below.

(just a quick list to show you what I'm talking about:
queen, quick, quiet, quack, quiz...)
