Cake # 2...The Bride of Frankenstein!

I am really enjoying cake decorating. I went home to Florence, AL this weekend and I decided to bake a cake for my younger brother, Carter. I wanted to make a Halloween cake and as I finished up my masterpiece...I decided that I did not want anyone to cut it. Poor Carter, I took the cake back with me to show it to Gere and his family; friends at work too. I'll have to make him another cake very soon, maybe just a plain one so I will not be so protective. :) Just in case you were wondering what it is supposed to be...It is The Bride of Frankenstein. (My aunt had no clue, my dad thought it was Marge Simpson, and Libby guessed-alien.) I might be the only one who thought it was a "masterpiece",ha.

Cake Decorating 101... I have decided to take on a few new hobbies lately. Gere is studying a lot!!!! and I seriously needed something to keep my mind off of missing my husband. I have always wanted to learn how to decorate cakes, so I have enrolled in a class and now...MOVE OVER Betty Crocker! This is my first project. We learned how to ice our cakes and how to make icing stars. I tried to jump ahead and do a lil' writing. My attempt at a monogram didn't work out so well. Maybe I should wait until I am taught the proper maneuvers, ha! I'll keep posting my progress. (and, yes I did bebop into class wearing this apron. I've decided I should be "class president"!!! :)

Caution... New Blogger

Hey friends! I've decided to make a second attempt at blogging. Everything posted on my blog up until now was done by my friend Libby. I was struggling so I turned over the reigns to her. Thanks Lib!

Now, I'm on my own and ready to get this thing going. Stay tuned to see how it comes along.
I love to look at (stalk) other blogs to see updates on everyone's lives. I thought I would start mine by backtracking just a bit. Since I am a newly wed, I've decided to add some pictures of the events that led to the happiest day of my life; My Wedding Day! The day that I married my best friend and love of my life; Gere! (I won't get any cheesier than that, I promise). Throughout the months leading up to the big day, I was very humbled by all of the wonderful people/friends that offered their time, advice, help, love, etc. I will cherish those memories forever! (Ok, gettn cheesy again, sorry) Wow, are we blessed!
